Turn the car off and disconnect both cables from your car battery, negative first. Find the ignition switch plate on the steering column and use a screwdriver to loosen the panel, then remove it and put it somewhere safe. Find the anti-theft alarm wire. Read your owner’s manual — don’t guess at it! Cut the wire and wrap it in electrical tape.

I have a problem with immobiliser when I start the car. When I turn the key the immo light starts flashing. I need to try to turn the key few times before it works. Sometimes I have a problem with remote opening the car. I need to open it with key and turn the ignition on to unlock the rest of locks. In such cases, one is typically required to program module and then re-establish proper immobilizer operation. If one doesn't have the ability to set up the immobilizer, this will likely result in a vehicle that will not start. For those of us in the United States, we are fortunate to have the National Automotive Service Task Force (NASTF).
Didn't answer my question at all. Headlight failure message has come on a day after the previous 2 came on but now they are gone and the headlight failure message comes on but the headlights are working. car seems tom be starting sluggisly like a weak battery. could a weak battery be causing the messages to appear?
You’ll have to disable it with these steps. Step 1: Check for the anti-theft light. It’s located on your dash and will have a blue or red light. Step 2: Turn the ignition to the "on" position. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the on position, which activates your accessories but not the engine.
Step 3: Use Your Car Door Key. You can also deactivate Toyota immobilizer using the door key, where you turn the key on your door as if opening it but do not open the door. Hold the key in place for around 30 seconds to let the immobilizer unit know that you have the right key. You can try turning the key on both sides, locking, and unlocking.
Here's a guide for you. When an engine immobilizer goes bad, it presents with all the same symptoms as multiple misfires. In short, your car won’t start, although it’ll still turn over in rare cases. You might also notice problems with related systems, such as the central locking or alarm systems.
Simply put, an engine immobilizer immobilizes the engine when the car’s key isn’t inserted. Newer units prevent the engine from starting unless it receives a certain electronic signal, which is functionally the same thing. These anti-theft devices are designed to prevent anyone but a car’s owner from starting and moving the car.
Immobilizer System Question. Hi, I have a new 2008 Nismo Frontier with the technology package that includes (or supposed to include) a vehicle security system and an immobilizer system. Your not supposed to be able to start the truck w/o a registered key, that has a transponder chip in it. I went into a hardware store to buy a key that would WYQKOy3.
