300TDI ENGINE INTO 90 110. The 300 Discovery has the engine fitted close to the radiator however when this is now fitted into the 90/110 the engine is positioned at the back of the engine bay the same as the original Land Rover 90/110 engine did, so all the hoses off the Discovery are too short. I'm restoring a recently purchased 1997 300tdi discovery. It is very clean externally but failed its mot on numerous rust related points.
Land Rover 300 Tdi Turbo Upgrade T28 . Land Rover 300 Tdi Turbo T28 upgrade, Performance bigger upgraded turbo. The standard Land Rover 300Tdi turbo is a T2 Shaft and a T25 turbo compressor wheel. This 300Tis upgraded turbo is a T28. The “hotside” turbine is remains standard size so not to induce lag.

For comparison a 3.5 V8 Range Rover would probably do about 12-15mpg under the same conditions. Power wise, you'll want a BIG, sorry did I say BIG intercooler and mess with the fuel pump. 200tdi's also require the turbo boost upping as they run lower than 300tdi's.The 300tdi is a Land Rover Engine and by design offers the opportunity to upgrade horsepower and torque with bolt on options. The engine can be performance tuned so it becomes the perfect daily driver. In fact the 300tdi for the Defender is a detuned version of the same engine that was used in the Range Rover and Land Rover Discovery.
