The Solar Ship is a new class of starship that was included in the No Man's Sky Outlaws update, and it has many unique travel and combat features. One of the major additions to No Man's Sky in the Outlaws update is the Solar Starship, which features unique equipment that enhances the ship's capabilities in and out of combat.
To summon the ships, go to the quick menu, to the multiple ships tab and select the ship you want. It will replace the one currently active. You need to switch ships on a planet by calling in another ship using the quick menu, then go to the space station and scrap it.
Hit that and your claimed/broken ship should come up hit that and it will land in front of you in its broken state. I assume once you fix it, it will show up in the initial summon vehicle tab. Hope this helps you or someone else! So glad I found this post.
Sadly, combat in No man's sky are really barren (borderline placeholders) the turrets on your freighter will never attack, even if you are been assaulted near the freighter. The only way to have those turrets to do something is if an enemy craft shoot the freighter by accident, then the turrets will react and attack.

you summon them to your freighter, if that works for you and isn't bugged. you warp your freighter to another system, and all ships in your collection should be on it. Ah ok I was trying to summon them but it says “cannot land here” so guessing it’s bugged? Sounds like I’ll try the second option.

Get in and take off. The original ship will be marked in the radar. Fly to it. If you reloaded then the original ship will no longer be spawned in game. So your option is to fly to the space station and scrap the new ship. The original one will appear in the space station. #7.
