I'm not sure exactly what's going on, but Sony/Ubisoft doesn't typically hand out free games. There's always a logical explanation when people think they got free stuff. During the free weekend they made the trial a full game and after that period it continues to be a full game. When I launch the game it says 'Play trial' instead of 'Play game'. Also even though you technically have the full game you cannot get the DLCs for it since the game is actually marked as trial.
